He has nearly 30 years experience in the metal treating industry, with formal training in the field of metalurgy. He enjoys the constant diversity of challenges at the company, such as designing custom fixturing for new jobs and looking for better ways to run parts for long-standing customers. Rebecca Bailey, Vice President, keeps the front office humming. She has an extensive background in manufacturing management and purchasing . She has worked in many industries, for both domestic and international companies. She led Chicago Induction in qualifying for ISO 9001-2000 certification. She continues as the company's ISO management representative. Gerald Bailey, CEO and President Emeritus, founded the company in 1976. He started in the metal business after being discharged from the U.S. Army in 1953. After earning a degree in mechanical and electrical engineering from Indiana Tech, he began his career with Western Electric. He was a partner in two other successful metal treating companies before striking out on his own to start Chicago Induction. Mr. Bailey was an active member of MTI and served on their Board of Directors for 6 years. Janet Bailey, Chief Operating Officer, founded the company with her husband Gerald Bailey. Working closely with him, she managed the front office through the years of rapid growth. She is a graduate of Michigan State University, and, prior to the founding of Chicago Induction, ran her own successful small manufacturing business. She continues to provide strategic leadership to the company.
